We do support the PHP HTTP Authorization and in order to enable it you need to add the following lines to the .htaccess file located in the web site's home folder:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*)
RewriteRule ^(.*) - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%1]
